Still grappling with the whole "daily updates" issue. One problem -- big and persistent problem -- is that I'll often have an idea, think about it for a while, then set it aside to stew.
This is a pernicious habit. I mean, really, it doesn't tend to improve the clarity of my thoughts (except perhaps over very long periods) and it leads to intervals where I don't post anything at all -- not for lack of ideas, but because I am too indecisive to actually write them down.
Silly, really. So my advice to anyone else doing this sort of thing, as always, is to just write. Whatever happens, at least you'll have pinned down your thoughts with solid words, and with those as a base your conceptual edifice will be on much firmer ground. Sure, not everything that you write will be good or interesting, but if you keep writing, you can chop out the boring parts later and what's left is usually pretty damned good.
