Karakuri Babble is a daily column by the editors of i360.com, usually on topics tangentially related to anime and cosplay.

In the past we have endorsed many things; in the future we shall support many others.

between episodes of penguindrum.

I know I've said this before, and even meant it, but the commenting is for real almost done. Not that I really think that people are clamoring to comment -- I mean, how would they, in the absence of a feedback mechanism -- but it's just one of those things that are done. People expect it.

And of course, in classic style, I have decided to take one basic design idea and run with it, via massive abuse of CSS (and some javascript.) But you already knew that, I'm sure. Why should we display information in only one dimension?

The whole thing degrades gracefully in the absence of javascript, too. That's written and at least somewhat tested.

I've still got to implement formatting (markdown, naturally) and name display. Apart from that, we're pretty much ready to ship. (Deal with stuff like spam filters if it becomes necessary. Do you expect it to become necessary? I don't.)

It's also written in the most direct cowboy coding style I could imagine, because most of this is a respite from the day job.
